If you’re hunting for the best immersive escape rooms in London, a team-building challenge or an adrenaline-fueled arcade adventure, Enigma Quests’ Escape Arcade® in Holborn needs to be at the top of your list. When we arrived—where you even get to create your own team name at check-in—we thought we knew what we were in for. We definitely didn’t. This place is high-energy, ultra-competitive, wildly creative and honestly more fun than we could have imagined.

Plus, it’s one of the only immersive attractions in London that welcomes players aged 11 and under (with an adult). Huge win for families looking for something more exciting than the usual weekend museum shuffle.

If you’re wondering why this experience belongs at the top of your London must-do list, keep reading.

What Exactly Is the Escape Arcade® at Enigma Quests?

The Escape Arcade® is essentially Basic Training for EQIC agents (yes, they make you feel like a secret operative the second you walk in). Behind 30 identical doors hide 30 completely different escape-room-style simulations, each with its own environment, theme, puzzles and challenges.

In your 1-hour session, your team of two to four players bounces between as many rooms as you can manage. You scan your RFID wristband to enter a room, complete the scenario in five minutes, grab your points, then sprint to the next door. You can even replay rooms instantly by tapping your wristband again—as long as you’re still in your allotted time slot.

What We Experienced: Multiple Rooms, Zero Boredom

Credit: Internationista

Because the Escape Arcade® is popular and hosts hundreds of players per day, there’s a short wait time between rooms—but even with that, we still managed to complete 10 simulations. But according to one of the employees, all of the rooms can be completed within your hour slot.

And honestly? Ten was more than enough to get hooked.

Every room felt radically different:

  • different mechanics

  • different puzzles

  • different lighting

  • different goals

  • different ways to score points

The variety alone makes this feel like a blend of escape room, arcade, team challenge, puzzle hunt, physical activity game and immersive theatre—all packed into one.

What were our favorite Rooms?

One of our absolute favourite rooms was the one where you have to slingshot balls at monsters. It sounds simple, but the moment the clock starts ticking, you’re suddenly yelling, scrambling, aiming wildly and laughing way too hard at how seriously you’re taking it.

Another standout? The Floor Is Lava room—a frantic, obstacle-dodging, coordination-testing experience that turns adults into competitive children instantly.

Both rooms are fast, silly, clever and unbelievably fun.

The Game Mechanics: Wristbands, Scoreboards & Pure Adrenaline

This place runs like a futuristic training centre:

  • Wristband access lets you open any door instantly.

  • Scoreboards show how many points you’ve earned after each room.

  • The more teammates you bring (two to four players), the easier it is to rack up points.

  • Each simulation gives you five minutes—just enough time for panic, teamwork and victory.

  • At the end of your session, you can see how you stack up against every team playing that day.

Once your hour is up, the wristband access shuts off—no sneaking back to replay your favorite rooms. You’re done, agent. Training complete.

Facilities: Lockers, Seating and a Bar That’s Worth Staying For

Before the fun begins, there are lockers so you can dump your bags, coats and everything else. Upstairs, the space opens into a big, comfy seating area perfect for groups.

But the cherry on top? Beyond The Web, the Escape Arcade®’s signature bar.

Whether you want a cocktail, mocktail, craft drink or just a post-game cool down, the bar is a brilliant bonus after all that running around. It turns your team-building session or friend-meet-up into a full evening out.

Why should the Escape Arcade® Be Your Next London Outing?

  • birthday adventure,

  • family day in London or

  • unique date

…the Escape Arcade® gives you an hour of pure, silly, strategic, unforgettable fun. You’ll laugh, shout, jump, panic and cheer—and you’ll want to go straight back in.

We genuinely had more fun than we could have expected.

Not Into the Escape Arcade®? Enigma Quests Has Next-Level Escape Rooms Too

If the fast-paced, five-minute, door-to-door madness of the Escape Arcade® isn’t your style, Enigma Quests offers some of London’s most story-driven, narrative-heavy escape rooms—perfect for players who prefer slow-burn immersion over high-speed chaos.

Their flagship rooms include:

  • The World of Witchcraft and Wizardry

  • The Billion Pound Heist

  • Inventor’s Odyssey Through Time

These aren’t just escape rooms—they’re deeply narrative experiences that blend lateral thinking, puzzle-solving and meaningful choice-based outcomes. Every decision matters. Every move changes the world you’re in. And because you’re established as an EQIC operative before the game even begins, the story doesn’t just unfold in the room—it weaves through the venue, the characters and even across social platforms.

If you’re looking for the next generation of immersive entertainment in London, these rooms push the boundaries far beyond traditional lock-and-key escape games.

And even more exciting?
Enigma Quests is reopening its Shoreditch location soon, bringing their signature world-building, game design and cinematic storytelling to East London.
